Activities Director
Brief info
Originally from Montgomery, Alabama, Jakeisha Wyman discovered her passion for caregiving while helping her grandmother care for her great-grandmother, who had been diagnosed with dementia and had experienced a severe stroke. That meaningful experience inspired Jakeisha to spend the next 10 years caring for others and ultimately pursue a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
After visiting her brother in Houston, Jakeisha quickly fell in love with the city’s welcoming community, vibrant atmosphere, and the opportunities it offered for both her and her daughter. Soon after relocating, she enrolled in CNA classes, successfully completed both certification exams, and joined the Richmond Health Care Center team just days later.
Richmond Health Care Center gave Jakeisha the opportunity to begin her career as a newly certified nursing assistant, and she quickly demonstrated her compassion, dedication, and natural ability to connect with residents. After several months of providing hands-on care, her hard work, positive spirit, and commitment to residents led to her promotion to Activity Director.
In her current role, Jakeisha continues to care for residents while creating meaningful, engaging, and enjoyable experiences throughout the community. She loves building relationships, bringing joy to each resident’s day, and making sure there are always plenty of opportunities to celebrate, laugh, and have fun.
